Middle School Resource Room Paraprofessional

POSITION SUMMARY
The goal of the Middle School Resource Room Paraprofessional is to support students in the general education setting by providing the necessary academic, social, emotional, and/or physical needs. Provide and document accommodation services in accordance with ISP and 504 plans in alignment with stated goals in the student plans.
This position is a key employee who actively engages in NorthPointe Christian’s mission of “Equipping students to impact their world for Jesus Christ.”
We are currently looking for a person to fill a full-time position for the 2025-2026 school year, but will consider hiring individuals who are looking to work part-time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote and demonstrate a growth mindset in believing that each student has the potential to succeed.
- Working with the special education coordinator to support both student and general education teacher to ensure accommodations/modifications and behavior management plans are implemented and needs are being met.
- Being a team player by following the direction of the special education coordinator and collaborating with general education teachers to provide classroom support and pull out intervention as needed.
- Provide direct instruction to students
- Attend to student physical needs, such as bathroom assistance.
- Train and engage peers to provide support and friendship
- Assisting with NPC record keeping and filing including parent communication needs, if necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Christian in agreement with and willing to sign NorthPointe Christian School’s Foundational Statements.
- Able to pass required background checks and fingerprint screening.
- At least 30 hours of college credits are preferred.
- Experience working with or mentoring teens would also be helpful.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is a standard classroom. The noise level is typically low to moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities.
